Early NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Listings Surface with Notable Prices
The release of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card is imminent, set to be unveiled at Computex with retail availability allegedly commencing May 19th. Before the official fanfare, however, some early birds have already shown up on store shelves – namely, on Best Buy's website.
Two of NVIDIA's partners, ASUS and PNY, have jumped the gun a bit and listed their own custom versions of the RTX 5060. This is our initial look at what we can expect, and to be honest, some of the prices are notable.
ASUS Listings Reveal a Sharply Higher Jump from MSRP
NVIDIA introduced the RTX 5060 with a list price (MSRP) of $299. It appears that locating one for that price, at least from ASUS at first glance, may prove difficult. They've got three models on offer, and the prices are lofty.
- The ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 5060 OC retails for $409.99. That is more than $100 above the entry-level Founders Edition price.
- Even the non-OC ASUS PRIME RTX 5060 (likely to be reference speed) isn't exactly affordable at $339.99.
- A factory-overclocked variant on the Prime model, the ASUS PRIME RTX 5060 OC, bumps the price up to $379.99, an $80 MSRP premium.
These are likely just placeholder numbers, yet they create an ominous feel. This raises the possibility of paying $80-$100+ more for potentially tiny clock speed increases and bespoke coolers.
Interestingly, the Best Buy spec details also appear a bit fishy. The cards are said to be quite long (over 300mm) and thick (2.5 to 3.25 slots), which would be plausible for custom designs. But the quoted TDP is an astonishing 250W, which appears highly improbable for an RTX 5060 with a rated spec of 145W. Even overclocked models probably wouldn't exceed much over 200W. So, for the time being, take those specs with a pinch of salt.
