Curious about which smartphone models really touch the hearts and wallets of consumers. Especially when sales figures for the beginning of the year 2025 come in, they give an interesting picture of the mobile landscape. Analytical minds have crunched the numbers at Counterpoint Research to show us which are the individual models people are snagging.
Some things don't change much; one brand still seems to hold the most spots at the top, just as we did last year. Moreover, there are also some familiar faces from the budget-friendly side finding their way.
So, who stole the limelight when it came to April. The standard iPhone 16 seems to be the most coveted gadget. But Apple didn't stop there; the next three positions fell to the technology giant from Cupertino:
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 Pro
- And even last year's iPhone 15 is going strong.
Not to be left behind, Samsung managed quite a presence by scoring four points in the top ten. Popular models are:
- Galaxy A16 5G
- Galaxy A06
- The premium Galaxy S25 Ultra
- And the Galaxy A55 5G.
Now things begin to get interesting in the eighth position 'a surprise entry into this Apple and Samsung party' as it turns out to be the Redmi 14C 4G. This model stands tall as the brand's sole representative in the top 10 and well earns accolades for strong sales performance: a whopping 43% jump over the same time last year. The growth is apparently driven by strong interest coming from Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
And who rounds out the list of the ten best-selling devices. That would be another Apple product: the iPhone 16 Plus.
That would give us a really interesting glimpse into the smartphones in vogue at the moment; a medley of high-end flagships and a few more accessible budget models, all finding their audience.
