Tuxedo has dragged the Stellaris 16 notebook into its seventh generation, and boy, is it packing heat. Not your everyday thin-and-light, the Stellaris 16 is all about raw power, and this latest generation even furthers that philosophy.
At the heart of this machine pulses an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor. But the graphics options will excite many. The Stellaris 16 can be decked with a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, an RTX 5080, or even go full beast mode with the mighty GeForce RTX 5090. We're talking a TGP maxing up at 150 watts for RTX 5090, with an added 25 watts courtesy Dynamic Boost. Not one to shy away, the processor can draw up to 130 watts.
A Display Dilemma: Brilliant Choices for Your Eyes
Tuxedo has gotten some really good options in what's going to be in front of your eyes. Either one can go with a jaw-dropping Mini-LED panel with a peak HDR brightness of 1,000 cd/m², or choose a bright LED display, which tops off at 500 cd/m² of brightness.
Both display types have some great features:
- 16-inch diagonal to boot.
- Hot-shot 16:10 aspect ratio.
- Sharply defined 2,560 x 1,600 resolution.
- Ray smooth maximum refresh rate of 300 Hz.
One cool feature is color accuracy, with the Mini-LED panel covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, while the LED screen nails 100% of SRGB.
A massive 99 Wh battery powers the system, depending on the configuration, with the option of a 330- or 420-watt power adapter. Tuxedo promises a web-browsing endurance of up to 8.5 hours, which is commendable for such a powerhouse. You may also charge it via USB-C with a capability of up to 140 watts.
For weighing 2.65 kg for the LED version, the Mini-LED is slightly more substantial, weighing around 2.8 kg.
In the storage department, you can find two M.2 2280 SSD slots, one running on blazing fast PCI Express 5.0 and another one on PCI Express 4.0. And in case you need a mountain of memory, the Stellaris 16 can support no less than 128 GB DDR5 RAM across two slots.
Tuxedo has gone all out with ports, which include:
- Left: 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet, USB-C 3.2 Gen2, an USB-A 3.2 Gen1 port, and an audio jack.
- Right: Two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports and an SD card reader.
- Back: A connector for TUXEDO Aquaris liquid cooling system, Thunderbolt 4, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, and HDMI 2.1.
It seems the Stellaris 16 (Gen 7) is all set to become the ultimate desktop replacement, giving a fascinating blend of performance and versatility. For those who want power and a feature-rich experience, this upgraded Tuxedo notebook looks to be one very compelling option.
