AMD Microsoft Gaming Partnership Deepens Lisa Su Details Cross-Platform Game Tech Solutions AI

After Microsoft said they are teaming up more with AMD for new tech, AMD's CEO Lisa Su gave more details on their plan for games. They want to make gaming smooth on all kinds of screens, focusing on making gamers happy.

AMD and Microsoft plan to work more closely to create full game tech solutions. Lisa Su talked about the long link between the two, from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox Series X and S, and new things like the ROG Xbox Ally devices.

They plan to go beyond making chips for Xbox to making a full set of gaming chips. These chips will use Ryzen CPU and Radeon GPU tech for consoles, handhelds, PCs, and online game spots.

Key parts of their work together:

  • One chip plan: AMD will make many gaming chips for all kinds of devices.
  • Easy to use on many platforms: They will make sure new tech works with old games on different devices.
  • Open game space: They aim to make a rich area supporting top graphics and deep game play.
  • AI use: They will use AI to make better graphics and game play.

The first things made from this closer work are thought to be the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, coming maybe in late October. A new Xbox is not expected before 2027.

Both Microsoft's Sarah Bond and AMD's Lisa Su said these new chips will also be in Microsoft’s Xbox cloud game service. This is big because it could make their streaming games, like those on Game Pass, run better and stand up against stuff like NVIDIA's GeForce NOW.

Su ended with,

"From console to cloud to handheld, AMD and Microsoft are making the future of deep games. We are thrilled to bring all this tech to gamers around the world."
