The brand-new trailer offered us quite an extensive view of the interesting world, fast-paced gameplay, and unfolding storylines. It truly was a visual treat.
But if you were holding your breath for an official release date, you might have been left a little disappointed. Instead of a concrete launch window, the trailer had rather cocky words letting the audience know that the game would be released "in due time," immediately followed by a memorable sign-off from one of the introduced characters "The Pissed-Off Doll," who told everyone to, well, "piss off." Quite an exit.
An Xbox Wire feature following the showcase threw more light on what to expect from inXile. We now know we will play as Morgan Vanette. A member of the "Rotten Row Hooligans," Morgan learns that she can now change the future by rewriting the past. For some time now, whispers in gaming circles have stated 2025 for the release of Clockwork Revolution. While that is still on the table, the vague "in due time" message, especially compared to other titles at the showcase that received hard dates (even late 2025), does raise some questions. Is it possible that we could be watching a dip into 2026.
Right now, it's all speculation. Xbox certainly wasn't pulling back with other eagerly awaited titles. Let us hope that we won't have to wait too long before we get a clearer date of when we can actually get our hands on Clockwork Revolution and start tampering with time ourselves.
