It looks like Techland has had a shift in mind about their new game, 'Dying Light The Beast.' What was once seen as a side game that kept going with the story of the first game's main guy is now set by the team as a straight, big next part in the Dying Light story.
Tymon Smektała, the boss of the series, gave more info on this change of view. He said that 'The Beast' first started as an extra story for 'Dying Light 2.' But, as they made more of it, the team's hope for the game got much bigger. This made them start again, turning it into the big game it is now.
Smektała made clear that, at Techland, 'Dying Light The Beast' is really seen as 'Dying Light 3,' even if the number isn't in the name. The next thing, he said, is to share this idea with the fans who love the series.
"This is a new game," Smektała said. "About a few months back, we started to tell people The Beast is a new key part in the Dying Light line. There might not be a number 3 in the name, but for us, it is Dying Light 3."
Techland wants to make sure fans see 'The Beast' as an important new step in the next months. Mark your days, as 'Dying Light The Beast' will come out on August 22nd. It will cost $60, but if you have the Ultimate Edition of 'Dying Light 2,' you get it at no more charge.
