Honor is slowly giving out news on its soon-to-come Magic V5 foldable phone. It plans to show it off for the first time on July 2. Now, the firm has let slip some info on how thin the phone will be, which is a big part of its look.

Honor says the Magic V5 will be 8.8mm thick when folded. This is a cut of 0.4mm to 0.5mm from last year's Magic V3. This size also means the Magic V5 will be about 0.1mm slimmer than the Oppo Find N5.

When open, and with a bezel of 0.5mm, the Magic V5 might be about 4.15mm thick. But, Honor says that how thick its foldable phones are can change based on the finish, so some Magic V5 types might be more than 8.8mm.

Honor had said before that it wants the Magic V5 to be the thinnest and lightest foldable out there. Even with this new thin size, it faces big tests from future phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.

Honor hopes the Magic V5 will hold the title of "world's thinnest foldable device up to 2025," but it can't be sure it will stay thinner than all new models, including the Galaxy Z Fold7.

The firm had earlier shown off the first look of the Magic V5, making fans eager for its next big foldable.
