HP has quietly launched its first mini-PC powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max technologies across Europe and the UK. The Z2 Mini G1a, a workstation in a small form factor, first appeared at CES 2025 and at Computex 2025, but is now, finally, available for sale.
The Z2 Mini G1a is more than just pint-sized; it will definitely be a demand that works in all seriousness on AMD's Strix Halo APUs. Interestingly, it seems HP is giving customers a wider choice of these chips than some others do. For instance, in the Eurozone, you could choose between the Ryzen AI Max Pro 390 and the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 395. This means greater flexibility in getting just the right mix of performance to suit your needs; an advantage that some of the other offers in the market don't present.
If you want the Z2 Mini G1a, order it right now if you are in the UK and some of the parts of Europe, while HP promised it will ship in its standard timeframe- no long boring waiting time for pre-orders, which is always good to hear.
In the US, the case is a little different. The mini-PC appears on HP's US website, but all configurations are currently out of stock. And most importantly, the price shown in the US is way too high already compared to what customers in Europe and the UK are seeing. That surely raises eyebrows among potential buyers in the US
HP Z2 Mini G1a comes in plenty of configurations. Before diving further into it, one thing to keep in mind is a 10% discount applied to those orders coming in from the UK with the coupon code "10AI". The prices below are thus the launch prices before such discounts are applied.
