MSI Puts Up GeForce RTX 5050 on Amazon, Hints at Sooner Start Date
A new mix-up has come up with the start time for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5050. While NVIDIA said a "late July" shop start for the GPU on June 24th, its board mate MSI has shown a custom one on Amazon.com with a go date of July 1, 2025.
The Mixed Start Info
The page for the "MSI Gaming RTX 5050 8G Shadow 2X OC" tells us the item will get out on July 1st. This is a few weeks before NVIDIA's set time, which, at this time, still goes with a "second half of July" start on its site. This move goes with a past leak that NVIDIA asked mates to get ready for a July 1st start in China, but this post hints at a wide, or at least North American, early start.
If the Amazon date holds true, other board mates like GIGABYTE, ASUS, and ZOTAC may also be set for an early lift-off, maybe making way for quick product write-ups.
MSI RTX 5050 8G Shadow 2X OC Facts
The shown MSI model costs $279, which is $30 more than the unnamed MSRP for the base model. As a sped-up type, it gives a bit more speed from the start. Key facts from the post are:
- Boost Clock: Up to 2617 MHz (Extreme Performance mode), a small jump from the 2570 MHz base clock.
- Memory: 8 GB GDDR6 on a 128-bit memory line.
- Display Outputs: Three DisplayPort 2.1a ports and one HDMI 2.1b port.
- Power Link: A lone 8-pin link.
- Shape Size: Dual-slot look.
Market Setting
This MSI card shows a custom-cooled, sped-up model. More top-notch ones from MSI and other mates with better heat sinks and higher speeds are also coming. The costs of these top-end ones might touch or go past $300, putting them on the same cost line as the MSRP for the GeForce RTX 5060.
