Nintendo Switch 2 Screen Hit for Slow Response Time and Blur

The new Nintendo Switch 2 screen is getting hit for slow response time and blur. After launch issues with the battery and other parts, now its screen is under the eye. Test from Monitors Unboxed show the console's screen is very slow.

How slow is the Switch 2's screen

They found the screen's response time is 33 milliseconds. This is very high, far from other tech:

  • Original Nintendo Switch The first had a 21ms response, much better.
  • Average Gaming Monitors They are around 5-6ms.
  • OLED Panels The best OLED screens can even hit 0.3ms.

A slow response makes the picture blur and you can see trails on screen in quick, high-move games.

The Main Issue No Overdrive

The main problem is it lacks "overdrive," a way to push the screen to swap pixels faster. Nintendo might have skipped this to save battery, which doesn’t last long.

Hope for a Fix

They could turn on overdrive with a software patch. Fans want Nintendo to put out such an update that lets them switch it on or off. This would let users choose a quick screen at home, yet save battery when out.
