Peladn has shown off its Y01 mini PC, a small device run by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 "Strix Halo" APU. It wants to give good graphics like big PCs and can use up to 128 GB of shared memory in a 2.4-liter box.
The Peladn Y01 uses the power of AMD's Strix Halo APU, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. It can go up against big PC systems that have their own graphics cards.
- APU: AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, with 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads. This APU’s strength is said to match the Intel Core i9-14900HX.
- Built-in Graphics: Radeon 8060S iGPU with 40 CUs, as good as an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.
- Cooling: The Y01 uses two fans and three heat pipes to keep the APU cool. Its full power when busy is still to be tested.
The Y01 is made for strong work but is not big.
- TDP Choices: You can pick from three Thermal Design Power modes by a power switch: 55 watts, 85 watts, and 120 watts.
- Small Size: The body is 220 x 200 x 56 mm and weighs just over 1.3 kg.
- Memory: Has 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, used by both the CPU and iGPU, good for lots of video memory.
- Storage: Has two M.2 2280 slots. One comes with a 2 TB SSD (the Samsung 990 Pro).
Peladn Y01 has many port options:
- Two USB4 ports
- Two USB 2.0 ports
- Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
- HDMI 2.1
- DisplayPort 1.4
- SD card slot (UHS-II)
- Two 3.5 mm sound jacks
- One 2.5G Ethernet port
Wireless: Has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
Right now, you can’t buy just one Peladn Y01. They are taking big orders for $1850 each.
