Samsung Exynos 2500, the 3nm GAA chip, shows improved Geekbench 6 scores but still trails competitors.
Samsung Exynos 2500 Geekbench Scores 3nm Chip Performance Update

Samsung just told us about their new Exynos 2500, the first 3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) phone chip, and it is back in the news with fresh Geekbench 6 tests. The new scores are better than before, but this chip still does not beat the top ones from other big brands.

Tarun Vats shared new Geekbench 6 data on X, and the Exynos 2500 got these scores:

  • Single-Core: 2,356
  • Multi-Core: 8,076

These marks are up from the old scores of 2,012 (single-core) and 7,563 (multi-core). The jump is about 16 percent in one-task tests and 7 percent in many-task tests.

Even with these jumps, the Exynos 2500 still does not match up to the best chips like MediaTek's Dimensity 9400, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, and Apple’s A18 and A18 Pro. While better than the old Exynos 2400, it too was behind others.

The making of the Exynos 2500 could be held back by factory issues. It's said that Samsung's 3nm GAA way has had problems with only 20-40 percent of chips being good enough. Such troubles could keep the chip from doing its best and might delay its use in phones like the Galaxy S25.

We know how the Exynos 2500 does on CPU tasks, but we still need to see how well its Xclipse 950 GPU works. Later tests on graphics will tell us more about the full power of the chip. More news and comparisons will come as they get more info.
