If you're still rocking a Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, or S22 Ultra, we have some good news for you. While Samsung started its One UI 8 beta program based on Android 16 for the newer Galaxy S25 series, it appears that the older flagships won't be left out in the cold!
News has just come in, apparently from the Samsung community forum, that the Galaxy S22 range indeed is slated to be one of the beta participants in One UI 8. This means S22 users will soon be able to taste the latest Android features and Samsung's freshest software tweaks before anyone else officially gets hold of it.
This is quite exciting, as some earlier speculations about a Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 16 were seen on Geekbench, which gave some hopes, but no official confirmation regarding a beta program. Now, it seems that Samsung plans to treat S22 owners with a taste of One UI 8.
It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy S23 series was also featured on the list for beta release of One UI , so the inclusion of the S22 series would be a pleasant surprise for many.
Note that One UI 8 will be the last big Android OS update for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra. After this upgrade, security patches shall follow, making the devices safe and secure, but there will be no information on other major Android OS jumps.
So, if you possess one of those devices, prepare to bask soon in the glory of what One UI 8 has to offer - or at least, that's the word on the street for the beta release timeframe for the S22 family!
