First Ever Smart Glasses Offline Payment Done
A big step in tech that you can wear was taken in Hong Kong. The first ever offline payment with smart glasses took place. This was done by the work of Alipay+ and Meizu, using the AlipayHK service.
How the Tech Works
The payment was done with Meizu's "StarV Snap" glasses. These glasses can hear you. They mix a few key techs:
- AI and Voice Help: The glasses use AI to hear and know what you need, and to keep the talk safe.
- Meizu Parts: The glasses have special screens, mics that block out unwanted sound, and cameras.
- Other Payment Ways: The glasses also take other payment types like NFC cards and QR codes, all in the Alipay+ world.
Big Deal in the Industry and What Comes Next
The head of Meizu’s mixed reality team said this is a new high for the field. A top person at Ant International agreed. He said smart glasses might be what comes after phones.
Limits and Plans to Share the Tech
Even with this good show, some still worry it won't take off big yet, as the glasses still have limits. But, plans are set to share this tech with all Alipay+ friends all over by 2025’s end.
