Team Fortress 2's "Mann vs. Machine" Mode is Due for a Big Update
Even though it's old, Team Fortress 2 still has strong fan love. Valve has just told us about a big new update coming, aimed at the much-loved "Mann vs. Machine" co-op mode, which came out 13 years back.
Valve Asks the Community for New Content
Instead of making the update all by themselves, Valve is asking their creative fans for help. The team wants players and creators to send in their own maps and tasks to maybe be part of the official update.
In a funny blog post, Valve said:
Thirteen years back, we started Mann vs. Machines, a scary story where machines tried to take our jobs... The writer of this post (that's us) now asks the community to share maps and tasks for Mann vs. Machine to put in the update (to make this less scary, let's pick a pretend last date like Wednesday, August 27th).
Important Information for Creators
The news also cleared up some big points for those who want to help out:
- What's Needed: New maps and tasks for the Mann vs. Machine mode.
- Last Date to Send In Work: They say you should send stuff by Wednesday, August 27th.
- Theme Can Vary: While the update might come out near Halloween, Valve has said you don't have to stick to Halloween themes.
A Quick Look at Mann vs. Machine
The "Mann vs. Machine" mode first came in a 2012 update and is a team game where six players fight off robot waves trying to set a bomb. When you finish tasks, you get special items, including some fun gear.
This update, fueled by the community, is a big step for this old game and its classic co-op mode.
