AMD Sets Prices and Date for Ryzen Threadripper 9000 HEDT CPUs
AMD has now set the prices and a July 31st start date for its Ryzen Threadripper 9000 CPUs aimed at high-end desktop (HEDT) fans. These CPUs, not the PRO kind, go up to 64 "Zen 5" cores and run on the cheaper TRX50 setup.
Ryzen Threadripper 9000 HEDT CPU List and Costs
This release comes after the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series for top work setups. The new HEDT models offer a cheaper way for fans to start. They will be in big tech shops from July 31st.

Setup and Power Info
The usual Threadripper 9000 CPUs fit only with motherboards for AMD's TRX50 chip. This setup is not like the WRX90 used by the PRO WX-series. TRX50 features are:
- Memory Help: 4-way memory, up to 1TB of DDR5-6400 RDIMM.
- PCIe Lanes: In all, 92 PCIe lanes, with 80 free for PCIe 5.0 parts.
- Overclocking: Full support.
For power, AMD shows early tests against Intel's stuff. The 64-core Ryzen Threadripper 9980X is up to 108% quicker than the 60-core Xeon W9-3595X. Also, the 32-core Threadripper 9970X is up to 137% better than the 44-core Xeon W9-3575X.
