ASRock Rolls Out New DeskMini PCs for Intel Core Ultra 2 and AMD AM5 Platforms
ASRock has made its DeskMini line bigger with two new units the DeskMini B860 and the DeskMini X600/USB4. These small PCs work with the newest chips from Intel and AMD. They give strong work in a very small 1.92-liter box.
Chip and Board Details
The new DeskMini Units serve two big chip types, using boards made to save space and power.
- DeskMini B860 (Intel): This one has a custom B860 board with an LGA 1851 spot. It can use Intel's Core Ultra Series 2 chips (Core Ultra 200S) with a power draw of up to 65W.
- DeskMini X600/USB4 (AMD): This one uses the AM5 type with a custom AMD X600 board. It can run many AMD chips, like the Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 lines.
Shared Look and Inside Parts
Even with different chips inside, both DeskMini PCs look the same outside and share a lot of parts inside.
- Box Size: Both fit in a 1.92L box that measures 155 x 155 x 80 mm.
- Cooling: They give up to 47mm space for CPU coolers, good for small cool units.
- Memory Room: They let you add up to 128 GB of SODIMM and CSO-DIMM DDR5 memory (depends on the type).
- Storing Space: Each can have up to two SATA SSDs and two M.2 2280 SSDs, with room for PCIe Gen 5.0 and Gen 4.0 links.
Plugs and Outputs
The two kinds have fast plug-ins, but they differ in screen plugs.
- DeskMini B860: Comes with two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, one HDMI 2.1 plug (for 4K@120Hz), and one Thunderbolt 4 plug.
- DeskMini X600/USB4: Has one DisplayPort 1.4 output and a USB4 plug for quick links.
Same Plugs: Both systems have many USB Type-A and Type-C plugs at the front and back, a 2.5G LAN plug for wired net, and an M.2 key E spot for WiFi if needed.
Who Should Use These and Why
ASRock says the new DeskMini line is built to mix power, saving, and use choices. They work well for work, schools, signs, and fun at home.
