Capcom Drops 'Monster Hunter Wilds' Optimization Talk After Strong Gamer Anger

Capcom has called off a talk on improving its game, Monster Hunter Wilds, due to big anger from gamers unhappy with the game's bad run quality, mostly on PC. The firm's aim to show other makers how the game was made better was hit by wide dislike from its own gamers.

The Dropped Talk

The talk was to be at the CEDEC 2025 meet in Japan, from July 22-24. Capcom wanted to talk on many points, like story design and how users see the game, with Monster Hunter Wilds as a key show. But, right before the meet, they cut the talk on making the game run better.

Big Gamer Anger and Bad Run Quality

Capcom gave no clear word on why the talk was cut, but many think it was due to ongoing and strong gamer upset. Since its start, Monster Hunter Wilds has been slammed for not running well on PC. Its approval rate on Steam has dropped to just 18%, and the problems have not got much better even with many fixes.

The users' upset grew so high that Capcom had to warn some fans with a legal move for making threats to the game's team. This high level of gamer anger is seen as the main cause for cutting a talk that would have shown the game's tech in a good light.
