Ghost of Yotei Length, Gameplay, and Release Date Details Revealed
Sucker Punch has let out new info on the soon-to-come Ghost of Yotei. In talks with VideoGameschronicle, they said it would be as long as Ghost of Tsushima. They also said the new game will have more mixed play.
Length and Game Content
The word that the new game will be as long gives us a hint of how long it might take to play. Ghost of Tsushima took about 25 hours for just the main story. If you did extra bits, it went up to about 46 hours. For full play, around 62 hours.
New Steps in Player Freedom and Exploration
While the playtime is the same, the team is working on new ways to play. They want to up the sense of being free and come up with new ways for players to see the world of Hokkaido.
Co-director Jason Connell said,
"we felt it right to also grow how we see the game’s freedom. How does it feel to look around What can you do... We saw this as a key step to rethink what being free means to a player."
Game boss Nate Fox talked about how key it is for players to find things on their own. He painted a picture:
"You're on your horse, seeing a vast, pretty land... And something small grabs your eye... That's when the game stops telling you where to go or what to do. It's all you. That’s what’s so good about open-world games."
Information on Multiplayer
Right now, we don't know if Ghost of Yotei will have a multiplayer part like Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The Legends came out a bit after the main game, so they might do the same this time.
Release Date and Platforms
Ghost of Yotei will drop on October 2 for PlayStation 5. They're thinking about a PC version later, following Sony's new way, but it would come a year or more after the first release.
