New Type of Battery You Can Remove
The GPD Win 5 moves away from batteries that stay put. Its 80Wh battery can be taken out and swapped, which is good for fixing it and for playing longer. Users can swap out a dead battery or get a new one from GPD if it gets old.
This battery set up lets you use it in many ways. It can go on the back of the device or connect with a wire, so you can put it on a table to make the handheld lighter while playing. This also means it can work on its own as a power bank.
How It Works and What You Can Choose
The GPD Win 5 comes with two chip types:
- AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395
- AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 (less strong, with fewer cores)
To help the CPU and built-in GPU, you can pick to have 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of LPDDR5x memory. For keeping files, there's space for a 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB M.2 NVMe 2280.
Screen and How to Control It
The tool will have a 7-inch, 1080p screen with a 120Hz rate and touch control for 10 points at once. The screen is safe behind Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has touch sticks, a one-piece D-pad, triggers with a Hall effect, back paddles you can set, and a finger mouse that uses light.
