Huawei Rolls Out Key HarmonyOS 5.1 Updates to Its Smartwatches
Huawei is now sending key HarmonyOS 5.1 updates to some of its smartwatches, like the Watch 5, Watch GT 5, and Watch D2. These updates bring new health options, better user looks, and handy tools. But, not all areas will get them at the same time.

Huawei Watch 5 World Update with Secret Tools
A big new update, version 5.1.0.110 SP17, is out for the Huawei Watch 5. Even though the file is a big 734.05 MB, the official notes only talk about system working better.
Yet, people getting this update have seen a new way to record voice memos. It's key to say that the Chinese version of this update had many more tools, like:
- Fall sensing and SOS help.
- A tool for checking family health.
- Paying with Alipay with the screen off.
- A better heart rate app with HRV, workout, and rest heart rate data.
- A health look-up app for seeing trends.
It's not sure which extra tools from the Chinese version are in the world version.
Huawei Watch GT 5 New Look and Health Tools in China
The Huawei Watch GT 5 is getting update version 5.1.0.16 (SP2C00M05), now going out in China. This update adds a lot of new tools:
- A new "star ring" style for the main screen look.
- New watch faces you can change.
- A way to record voice notes.
- A "Health Insights" app for understanding health data better.
- A new way to measure sleep HRV (Heart Rate Variability).
- More contacts to sync (up to 30) and a better alarm setup.
Huawei Watch D2 Health Look-Up and HRV Data
For the Huawei Watch D2, software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05) is the first HarmonyOS 5.1 update, starting in China too. Cool new things include:
- The new "star ring" app layout.
- New watch faces like ‘Fashion Profile’ and ‘Universal Module’.
- For users with a HarmonyOS 4 phone, the watch can show live info like flight or food delivery status.
- A new health look-up app for watching heart rate and stress levels.
- Adding a sleep HRV score to understand tiredness better.
