Lexar Shows Off ES5, a MagSafe-Ready Small SSD for Folks Who Make Stuff

Lexar has brought out the ES5 Magnetic Portable SSD, a new drive made to hook right onto iPhones that work with MagSafe. This tool is aimed at folks who create stuff, giving them a spot to keep big, clear videos in real time without filling up the phone's own space.

Fast Speed for Pro Videos

The drive hits read and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. This fast speed lets you record 4K Apple ProRes videos at 120 fps and Samsung Pro videos in 8K at 30 fps.

Lexar says the SSD works well with gear that can save to an external drive, like the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and Samsung Galaxy S25 line.
