LG Japan Shows Big 40U990A-W Ultrawide Screen with Thunderbolt 5
LG Japan just told us all about their new big screen, the LG UltraFine 40U990A-W. It’s a 39.7-inch wide watch screen for pros. What sets it apart is its 5K2K sharp view, fast 120Hz speed, and it’s the first in the world to use Thunderbolt 5 to link up. They also talked about another, more usual 34-inch screen, the 34BA75QE-B.

Price and When You Can Get It
Both screens start in Japan with these details:
- LG 40U990A-W: Costs about 253,000 yen (~$1,740 USD). Can order now, ships start August 28.
- LG 34BA75QE-B: Costs about 83,000 yen (~$562.28 USD).
For buyers not in Japan, LG said a close model to 40U990A-W, but with Thunderbolt 4, is on Amazon US now.
