MediaTek Non-Executive Workers Make More Than TSMC, New Pay Data Shows

Though TSMC made a huge $25.53 billion in the first three months of 2025, which is way more than MediaTek's $4.7 billion, new pay data sets show that full-time workers at MediaTek, who are not bosses, get more money each year. This info was shared by the Taiwan Stock Exchange on June 30, making MediaTek a better pick for these workers.

MediaTek Is Top for Non-Boss Pay

Based on the results shared, MediaTek leads in Taiwan with its non-boss workers getting around $148,997 each year. This is up by 14.81% from 2023 and is the top pay that goes over $4 million here.

In turn, big chip maker TSMC is seventh. A non-boss worker there gets about $117,193, a lot less than those at MediaTek. Realtek is second, giving out about $135,361.

Top 9 Taiwan Firms by Pay for Non-Boss Workers (2024)

This list shows that chip design firms are big on giving good pay, with seven out of nine doing this work.

  • MediaTek: $148,997
  • Realtek: $135,361
  • Dafa Technology: $123,147
  • Aishanlin: $122,311
  • Novatek: $121,474
  • Ruiding: $117,816
  • TSMC: $117,193
  • GUC: $109,321
  • Xiangshuo: $106,516

Why Such Different Pay?

The report does not say why pay is so different, but it might be about how many people work there. In 2024, MediaTek had about 21,982 workers, while TSMC had way more - about 83,000. This could make average pay lower as it spreads over many more people.

Also, TSMC might pay its top or boss-level staff more – this part was not told in the data shared. Plus, MediaTek was named one of the best places to work last year, which might tell us why their overall worker vibe is seen as good.
