MSI's EOTF Boost A New Way to Make OLED Screens Shine Brighter

MSI has made a new feature called EOTF Boost, made to make the bright parts and look of its OLED screens better. This tech smartly checks what's on the screen to give more clear views and is now on some new models.

How EOTF Boost Makes Views Better

The main aim of EOTF Boost is to give a higher bright level than what you often get with normal HDR modes like HDR True Black 400 or HDR1000. MSI says that this tech gives a brighter view even under the same Average Picture Level (APL) as HDR1000.

"For those who wanted more bright when using HDR1000 mode, you can now use EOTF Boost Mode for a brighter view." - MSI

Some reviews, like one from Monitors Unboxed, have seen real better views in games, videos, and more. They say this feature is smarter at fixing different parts of a view for more clearness. The reviewer said EOTF is better than HDR1000, noting it could be even better with more tweaks.

Where to Find EOTF Boost

EOTF Boost is now ready right out of the box on a few of the newest MSI OLED screens. These models are:

  • MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50
  • MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50

MSI also said that this feature will come to older MSI OLED screens. People who have old models can wait for the EOTF Boost feature to come in a new update set for August.
