NVIDIA to Release New GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 in China on August 12th
NVIDIA is set to release a top-level gaming graphics card for the Chinese gamers, named GeForce RTX 5090 D V2. Report say, this card will come out on August 12, 2025. This new model will take over the old RTX 5090 D as the newest type made to meet US export rules.
Main Changes and Features
The GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 has some new parts and changes from other RTX 5090 cards:
- GPU Die: It is said to use the GB202-240 GPU die, which is different from the RTX 5090's GB202-300 or the old RTX 5090 D's GB202-250.
- Memory: The VRAM is now 24 GB of GDDR7 on a 384-bit bus. This is 25% less than the 32 GB in the older model.
- Core Count: It is set to keep the same 21,760 core count.
- PCB Design: There's a new board layout, named PG145 SKU 40, to fit the new GPU and VRAM setup.
- Power (TGP): The total power is held at 575W, but partners can make versions with the power up to 600W.
Expected Speed and Cost
Early words say the new RTX 5090 D V2's speed in games looks much like the old RTX 5090 D. Yet, speed might drop when the lower 24 GB of VRAM limits it.
NVIDIA has not set a price yet. With the cut in VRAM, price might drop to keep it good for gamers in China.
More from NVIDIA in China
Besides this gamer card, NVIDIA is also getting a new RTX PRO series GPU ready for the professional market in China. The firm is also set to start selling its H20 AI gear again and might launch a "Blackwell" B40 model.
