Sony Puts Out Big Updates for WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5
Sony is giving out new updates for two of its top wireless sound gear. These updates make big upgrades to the new WH-1000XM6 headphones (now Version 2.0.2) and the WF-1000XM5 earbuds (now Version 5.0.2). The older WH-1000XM5 headphones do not get this update.
Shared Upgrades for Both Items
Both the WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5 get several key boosts with these updates:
- More App Support: Fast Access and Sound Setting modes now work with Apple Music and YouTube Music.
- New Bluetooth Way to Link Up: A "Low Wait" choice is now here, adding to the "Pick Sound Quality" and "Pick Stable Link" modes on some phones.
- Better Call Use: The "hear your voice in a call" feature now runs in all sound control settings.
- General Upgrades: The updates also boost system safety and overall work better.
WH-1000XM6 Only Extras
The WH-1000XM6 headphones get two extra things in Version 2.0.2:
- Water Alert: The headphones can now tell if water hurt might be in the USB Type-C spot.
- More Voice Control: Voice control help has been put in for French, German, and Spanish.
How to Add the Updates
These new firmware updates need to be put in using the Sony Sound Connect app. Updating can take up to an hour. Make sure the devices are not charging as the update happens.
