'Project Titan' from Striking Distance Studios Might Be Off
Words on the street are that Project Titan, which was a secret name for Striking Distance Studios' next game, has been called off. This news came up when a big tech artist at the studio put "cancelled" as the game status on their online profile. This was then seen on Reddit.
A Good Start Turned Sour
Striking Distance Studios, set up by Glen Schofield of Dead Space fame, made fans very happy. The studio, under Krafton, had old game makers aiming to craft a movie-like story game. They showed The Callisto Protocol, hoped to follow Dead Space.
The Rocky Start of The Callisto Protocol
With big hopes, The Callisto Protocol had a rough start. Schofield told all about tight rush times during the game's make. When out, the game got so-so reviews and didn't do big. A month later, EA Motive's Dead Space Remake came out doing well and showed where The Callisto Protocol fell short.
Schofield said later that the game came out too soon; claiming Krafton didn't let him and his team have another three to four months they needed to finish their work.
Job Cuts, People Leaving, and the End of Project Titan
The flop of The Callisto Protocol led to many losing jobs at Striking Distance Studios. Less than a year after the game came out, Glen Schofield left the studio he started. The team left was thought to be working on what's likely the now-stopped Project Titan.
What Comes Next for the Studio
With Project Titan not happening, it's another hit for the studio. It started with big dreams but ran into many hard spots. What will happen next with the studio and any new game is hard to tell.
