Vivo X Fold5 Lands in India, Takes on Galaxy Z Fold7 with Low Price

Vivo has just set up its X Fold5 foldable phone in India, its first stop outside after its start in China last month. The new fold phone pops into the scene with a price that cuts deep under Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7, and even bests it on some tech parts.

Price and Set-up

The Vivo X Fold5 costs INR 149,999 (~$1,799) for a unit with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of space. This is a lot less than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, which is priced at INR 174,999 (~$1999) for a model with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB space. To add more good, Vivo is giving a start sale cut, which includes an INR 15,000 (~$189) bank deal.

Key Tech Face-offs

Even though the Vivo X Fold5 has Qualcomm's not so new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, it leads in some key tech parts:

  • Battery and Power: The X Fold5 has a big 6,000 mAh battery, 36% more than the 4,400 mAh one in the Galaxy Z Fold7. It also fills up quicker with an 80W wired and 40W wireless charge.
  • Camera Set: The X Fold5 has top-notch wide, zoom, and face cameras. But, the Galaxy Z Fold7 does better with its main shoot tech.
  • Build: The device is 217g heavy and 9.2mm thick when closed.

Note on Area Tech Bits

It's key to know that Apple Integration parts on the China phone version and are not on the Global version.
