XPeng Rolls Out G7 Electric Crossover to Rival Tesla Model Y
XPeng has just put out the G7, an electric crossover set to go up against the Tesla Model Y with a lower price and many cool features. They point out its top-notch inside, a max way out of 702 km, and a speed-up time of 6.5 seconds to 100 km/h.

Speed and Power Details
The XPeng G7 comes with a single electric motor making 292 hp. Buyers can pick one of two battery types:
- A 68.5 kWh battery that goes 602 km (CLTC standard).
- An 80.8 kWh battery that goes 702 km (CLTC standard).
The crossover is set for fast charging, filling up 436 km of way in just 10 minutes. It can also power outside things up to 6 kW. An AI system for the ride adjusts to roads in no time.
Inside Tech and Room for Stuff
In the G7, there's a big 15.6-inch screen in the middle run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. A big deal is the huge 87-inch screen set up with HUAWEI.
For putting away things, the car has:
- An 819-liter back trunk that opens up to 2277 liters with down seats.
- An extra 120-liter spot below the trunk floor.
- A 42-liter space in the front.
The room inside also has two 50-watt spots for charging without wires, a 20-speaker sound set-up, and a big see-through roof.
Back Seat Cool Stuff
Those in the back get their 8-inch screen, own air setting, a fold-up table, and their charging spots.
Smart Drive and AI Tech
The G7's smart drive changes with the set-up:
- Basic Set-up: Comes with two NVIDIA Orin-X chips, making 508 TOPS.
- Top Set-up: Uses two Turing AI chips that make 2250 TOPS, allowing for third-level smart driving.
Price and Where It Stands
The price for the XPeng G7 is between $27,325 and $31,510. This makes it a lot cheaper than the Tesla Model Y, which starts at $36,784 in China.
