YUNZII Shows Off the X98 Clear Mechanical Keyboard

YUNZII now has a new mechanical keyboard, the X98, made cool with its see-through style. Its case, key tops, and shift parts are made of clear hard plastic. The keyboard has built-in noise blockers, colored lights, and full support for expert tweaks with QMK/VIA.

Build and Sound Setup

The X98 uses a Gasket Mount build for a more soft touch when you type. It has many sound-blocking layers to cut down shake and noise:

  • A foam coat under the base
  • PET and IXPE layers
  • A silicone block
  • Poron foam block

Parts and Uses

The keyboard comes with smooth "Snow" switches that are easy to swap without the need to melt metal. These switches can last for 60 million taps. The clear key tops have a CSA shape. Besides the usual keys, the X98 has a set key knob for your own control set-up.

Power and Linking

Inside, the X98 holds a big 8,000 mAh power source. The makers say the keyboard can work for 45 hours without wires with the lights on, or up to 320 hours with lights off. It can link with Bluetooth 5.3 and a 2.4 GHz radio, letting you hook up to five tools and switch between them fast.

Style and Tweaks

The keyboard's 96% design gives almost a full-size feel but in a smaller build. Full use of QMK/VIA code lets you change keys and make short cuts without other programs.

Cost and When You Can Get One

You can buy the YUNZII X98 now for $109.
