AMD Brings Out Radeon RX 7400 for Easy 1080p Play

AMD just put out a new video card in its RX 7000 line, the Radeon RX 7400. This RDNA 3-based card is set for easy 1080p play and looks almost the same as the new Radeon PRO W7400 pro card. The RX 7400 is mainly for the made (OEM) PC world.

Radeon RX 7400 Main Specs

The Radeon RX 7400 has a smaller Navi 33 GPU than its big kin, the RX 7600. Here are its main bits:

  • Work Units: 28
  • Stream Units: 1,792
  • Ray Speed-Ups: 28
  • VRAM: 8 GB GDDR6
  • Memory Rate: 10.8 Gbps
  • Memory Way: 128-bit
  • Memory Load: 173 GB/s
  • Endless Cache: 32 MB

While the card gets 28 Ray Speed-Ups, it's the cheapest RX 7000 card to have ray trace, but its play in RT-ready games may be weak. Its memory load of 173 GB/s is about 40% less than the Radeon RX 7600, showing where it stands in the group.

Look, Energy, and Links

The big aim for the Radeon RX 7400 is how well it saves power and its small size, making it great for easy pre-made setups.

  • Look: One-slot design, just 167mm long.
  • Energy Use: Very low Whole Board Power (TBP) of 55W.
  • Power Parts: Needs no outer power links.
  • Video Ends: Has DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 ends.

When You Can Get It

The Radeon RX 7400 is for the low-cost group for 1080p play. AMD hasn't shared plans for when it will be in the DIY retail shops, so it may just be an OEM part. The card is now listed as a single video option in work PCs from makers like Dell.
