New AMD Ryzen 9000 3D V-Cache CPU Info Comes Out in Leaks

New tips from good tech leakers say AMD is making two more Ryzen 9000 series "Zen 5" home PCs CPUs with its 3D V-Cache tech. The leaks show a new 16-core top model with a big cache and a new 8-core choice, growing the AM5 line.

A New 16-Core CPU with Two 3D V-Cache Parts

The big news in this leak is a 16-core, 32-thread chip that might top the current Ryzen 9 9950X3D. It may have:

  • Cores/Threads: 16 Cores / 32 Threads
  • L3 Cache: 192 MB
  • TDP: 200 Watts

The 192 MB cache stands out, as it means this CPU might be the first from AMD for most buyers with 3D V-Cache on both its Core Parts. This would be way up from the 128 MB cache on the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Such a chip would draw game lovers and might cost more than the 9950X3D's $699.

A New 8-Core 3D V-Cache Model

The next chip seems to be an 8-core, 16-thread CPU close to the current Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The specs are:

  • Cores/Threads: 8 Cores / 16 Threads
  • L3 Cache: 96 MB
  • TDP: 120 Watts

This chip might cost less, around or below $450, or maybe be a speedier model. It would give gamers more 8-core 3D V-Cache choices.

Why a Double X3D Chip May Now Be Doable

While AMD once said no to a store chip with 3D V-Cache on both parts due to cost, the 2nd Gen AMD V-Cache in the Zen 5 line may have changed things. This new V-Cache sets up cooler and faster, letting a double-part version work for a top-end home product.

Market Spot and Intel Fight

If these CPUs come out, they would keep AMD strong in the top-end gaming market. Leaks say Intel's tech with a big on-chip cache, known as "bLLC," won't come soon with its Nova Lake set. This keeps AMD ahead in cache-heavy game show for a while more.
