Fourier Shows GR-3 Care-bot for Feelings and Help
The tech firm Fourier brought out a new robot that looks like a human, the GR-3 Care-bot. This robot is not just for jobs. The GR-3 aims to connect with people on a feelings level to make a warm, caring link.
Main Job Giving Emotional Help
The key job of the Care-bot is to give comfort and help. It can help a sad kid, help an old person move, and keep an eye on health. It does this with its "Full-Perception Multimodal Interaction" system. This system blends seeing, hearing, and touch in one set-up for a more "real" and clear talk.
What the GR-3 Can Do
The GR-3 has an open set-up for tech people and a build that lets you change parts and the battery. Here’s what it can do:
- Its Size: 165 cm tall and 71 kg.
- How it Moves: Has 55 ways to move.
- What it Senses: It can know faces and voices, watch a person's eyes move, and feel touch with 31 sensors.
- How it Acts: The robot can show a “feeling” with how it moves and change its walk to look “full of energy” or “worn out,” by what is needed.
How the GR-3 Thinks
The robot uses two ways of thinking to help it understand feelings. Quick, simple acts are fixed by certain rules. For deeper talks and acts, the GR-3 uses a language model. This way, the robot changes how it acts based on not just the job but also how a person talks, their face looks, and how they feel.
