Honor Launches Magic V Flip2 A Foldable Packed with Battery and Camera Power
Honor has unveiled yet another clamshell foldable phone, the Magic V Flip2. Though it might not be the lightest and most powerful device in its class, it certainly sets new standards for battery capacity and camera resolution in a flip-style form factor.
It is All about the Battery and Charging
For the Magic V Flip2, battery life is the strongest selling point. It is the first clamshell foldable to integrate a 5,500 mAh battery, a capacity level that overshadows Motorola, Samsung, and Xiaomi competitors in its category. A 5,500mAh battery supported by 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 7.5W wireless reverse charging makes the charging experience even more exciting.
A Camera System with High Specification and Thin Profile
Honor has designed the phone with a powerful camera system that includes:
- 200 MP primary rear camera (1/1.4-inch sensor).
- 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (120° FOV).
- 50 MP inner camera (f/2.0 aperture).
Conceivably, all these work in a body measuring 6.9 mm thick on each side when open and certified IP59 against water ingress. When folded, it is 15.5 mm thick, with a weight of 204 grams.
Screens and Performances
Two excellent 120Hz LTPO OLED displays provide images for the device. The tiny 4-inch cover screen has an insane brightness of 3,600 nits, while the enormous 6.82-inch inner screen under-glass can reach 5,000 nits.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform from Qualcomm is used within the Magic V Flip2. Although Xiaomi's Mix Flip 2 and Razr 60 Ultra have transitioned to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Honor's phone promises to deliver terrific performance with configurations up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
Pricing and Availability
Honor plans to make the Magic V Flip2 available in China on August 28 with the following pricing structure:
- SKUs will range from CNY 5,499 (approximately $769) to CNY 7,499 (approximately $1099).
