Microsoft's Plan for Windows by 2030 Voice, AI, and Top-Notch Security
A new type of Windows might use voice more than old keys and mice, David Weston, the main guy for OS security at Microsoft says. In a talk, he talked about big changes for the system by 2030, where how we talk to it gets smarter and feels more real.
Moving On from Old Ways
Weston thinks that soon the old mouse and keyboard will look as old as MS-DOS to young folks. "The mice and keyboard world will look so old," he said. Computers then will use many ways to talk to us. They will see, hear, and get what's going on to do hard stuff just by us talking normally.
AI as Main Work Buddies
By 2030, AI pals are set to be key at work. Weston showed a few ways this can happen:
- AI pals could join Microsoft Teams talks to do given jobs.
- They could handle jobs from emails.
- People could even pick a special AI, like a security pro, that chats and works like a real adviser.
Weston's main goal here is to help free us from everyday tasks so we can think, create, and talk better.
Getting Ready for the Quantum Leap
This high-tech AI setup will need a lot of computer power, maybe from quantum computers. With this in mind, Microsoft is already upping its security game. They're putting new top-tier security tech right into Windows to keep it safe from coming dangers.
"If we're not ready, bad guys will have the upper hand," Weston said. "It's scary but pushes us to do more."
