Nintendo Switch 2 Sales Hit 6 Million Units Just After Launch
Nintendo's new money report tells us how well the Nintendo Switch 2 has done so far. The firm said in the first seven weeks after it came out, over six million units of the new game box were sold.
Looking at Q1 Sales Figures
The report for the quarter that ended in June shows:
- Sales of the box by the end of the quarter 5.82 million units.
- Total game sales 8.67 million units.
- Best-selling game Mario Kart World, with 5.63 million sales, bought by almost each Switch 2 user.
Nintendo Talks About Not Having Enough Boxes
Nintendo has now said sorry for not having enough boxes in many spots. They said in the report:
Right now, more people want the Nintendo Switch 2 than there are units, and we are sorry for the trouble. We're trying to make more and get them out to shops.
Money News and What Comes Next
Even with these box shortages, Nintendo made a lot more money. Sales jumped 132.1%, going from 246.6 billion yen ($1.6 billion) last year to 572.3 billion yen ($3.8 billion) this year.
The firm still thinks it will sell 15 million Switch 2 units and 45 million games in the 2026 money year.
But, money from other stuff linked to its games dropped a bit by 4.4% (from 17.5 billion yen to 16.7 billion yen) because The Super Mario Bros. Movie did not do as well as before.
