Valve's Deadlock Receives Major Content Update
Valve's still Deadlock has been updated with a content patch after relative silence since last spring. The update brings in new hero characters, a social hub, and various visual upgrades to the online action game.
New Heroes Introduced in the Latest Patch
Three heroes have been injected. Six more appear on the horizon, and they are not of the same release pool and probably will be in different timelines.
- Mina, a vampire
- Billy, a demonic goat
- Page, who brings books to life
- Porter, always the doting one
- Victor; an indomitable beast
- Drifter, a bane to the city's peace
Hero Release Schedule and Community Vote
Now these fighters will not be dropping in at once. First will be Mina. Every other character would then follow one by one every two days. A community vote will determine the release order among the remaining five heroes.
Introducing the Hideout Social Hub
Introducing the "Hideout" social hub. This new area is a mini-lobby where players can stroll freely killing time before the match starts. The devs will be adding customization options later on so players can tweak their own personal version of the lair.
Visual Upgrades and Presentation Reworks
A lot of work has also been done on the presentation of the above-mentioned patches-including the re-work of the hero selection screen to a much more colorful version. Lighting and visual presentation on the map are reworked too.
Current Development Status
Currently, Deadlock is still under development and announced last year. No release date has been set yet. The official Steam page is empty with no screenshots. Right now, play is by invitation only.
