Free 'Deep of Night' Challenge Released as Elden Ring Nightreign
With the introduction of the Deep of Night mode for Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware has launched a free update. The new mode was specifically created as a high-difficulty challenge for those players who have gone through every drop of the game.
A World of Juxtaposed Danger and Instability
The Deep of Night mode completely alters the experience by amplifying threats and some unpredictability. Players stand to face new dangers:
- Hidden Bosses: Traumatic meetings like Nightlord or Shifting Earth may remain hidden against the player until the moment combat is initiated.
- Strongly Fortified: Enemies all around the Limveld area are proved to be morbidly punishing.
- Mutated Foes: Random enemies can now appear in mutated forms, hence presenting unexpected and possibly graver dangers.
Double-Edged: These Enhancements and Relics
Against these potent threats, new improvements are now available for the player's arsenal. Of course, these all come at great risk. Some enhancements may be detrimental to the player by increasing damage taken. This puts the player in a position to be very careful and strategic with their loadouts.
With this update, a new class of rewards for use strictly within Deep of Night mode are introduced. They are Depths Relics. This allows players an additional three slots to equip these relics. Just like the new weapon variants, these relics give strong buffs but cost a fortune in terms of skilled calculation to use properly.
The Last Challenge to Ferocious Brave Nightfarers
The Deep of Night mode is directed at those who do not shy away from an extreme challenge. One such challenge is having the player survive through the night and slay the Night Lord under the most difficult of conditions. But this possibility of the unaware emergence of an Everdark Sovereign Night Lord-the direst and ravenous threat in-game-is also something new to this mode.
