iQOO 15 to Release in October with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Extreme Edition

The iQOO 15 smartphone has been officially confirmed for October release this year and is anticipated to be one of the very first devices with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset. The mobile phone would reportedly also come with a new 2K Samsung OLED display, whose local peak brightness would be at 6000 nits and a unique "Lingyun" design specific to gaming performance.

Groundbreaking Performance and Gaming Optimization

The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor powers the performance of the iQOO 15. Some of the important details are:

  • Architecture- A 2 + 6 core configuration with two prime cores at 4.6 GHz and six performance cores at 3.62 GHz.
  • Performance Improvement: The chip promising 20 percent better performance compared to the previous generation has been reported.
  • Efficiency Improvements: It has also been said to be 35 percent more efficient even while reducing consumption by 16 percent.
  • Gaming Engine: The device will possess a "Monster Hyper-Core engine" co-engineered with Qualcomm for improved gaming.

"To merit all its ambitious lines from gaming performance, the iQOO 15 is apparently going to be the official competition phone of the 2025 KPL Annual Finals."

Breakthrough Display Technology

The display of the phone is said to be a 2K Samsung Everest screen, which is utilizing the world's first 2K LEAD OLED display technology, and this is the new panel, designed to give much better clarity as well as energy efficiency. Features of its display are:

  • Peak Brightness: Local peak brightness up to 6000 nits, an improvement of over 740% compared to an unspecified previous panel.
  • Power consumption: 44% reduced power usage, comparison against a panel is unclear.
  • Durability: The life span of the luminous-material has been extended by 50%, helping to avoid burn-in on the screen.
  • Brightness Sensing: An industry-first triple light sensor system (front, back, and top) is included for more accurate automatic brightness adjustment.

Distinct "Lingyun" Design

The new "Lingyun" design language will be displayed on the iQOO 15. Some of them are as follows:

  • Color and Texture: Silver white back cover painted with silver texture.
  • Screen: A straight screen of 6.85 inches with wide R angles and rounded corners.
  • Frame: A matte middle frame at low temperature with directly polished metal edges for better grip.
  • Camera Accent: Special camera ring lights red when they are active, producing a "red blade" aesthetic.
