PlayStation Officially Turns 30 on the Best Selling Games-from All-Time List
With celebration recently marking PlayStation's thirtieth year, the analytics agency Circana has released sales figures that reflect the platform's all-time most prolific games. The agency released two lists: one for all PlayStation generations, and the other exclusively about the original console.
All-Time Best Sellers in PlayStation
By far, the all-time best-selling games across all PlayStation consoles exhibit a predominance of only a few very large franchises. Grand Theft Auto V stands unchallenged in taking the top position for everything.
Notably, the Call of Duty franchise's entries fill almost half of the positions on the all-time top list. The highest-placed internal exclusive from Sony is Marvel's Spider-Man, which stands 11th and 6th in terms of revenue earned and number of copies sold, respectively.

Looking Back The Greatest Hits on the Original PlayStation
Circana's second offering is all about the first pioneering titles on the original PlayStation. The chart has been topped by and Gran Turismo 2, both great racing simulators for the time.
The rest of the list comprises many other recognizable and critically acclaimed games from that era, including:
- Crash Bandicoot
- Tekken
- Metal Gear Solid
- Tomb Raider
- Driver
- Resident Evil
- Final Fantasy
This is a representative guarantee that such classic titles were really the requirement for playing games in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
