Witcher 3's Cross-Platform Mod Support Extended to 2026
The game studio CD Projekt RED announced and made it official the delay in cross-platform mod support for its acclaimed RPG title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Initial plans were to roll out the feature in 2025, but it is now slated to go live in 2026.
CDPR's Official Statement on the Delay
No specific reasons were advanced by the studio as to the said alteration in schedules. Instead, it issued an unembellished apology, plus the confirmation of the new date for the release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Initially, we had planned to support cross-platform mods for the play game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S; however, we regret to inform everyone that the target date for that will be extended to 2026. We are sorry for this delay, and from now on, we will provide a bit more information in due time before the release.

Reason for the Postponement
At this time, CD Projekt RED is handling quite a copious development workload as it is working on multiple in-house blockbuster projects, including the next installment in The Witcher saga, which is codenamed Polaris, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and a new intellectual property, as well as running the GOG online storefront.
About the Cross-Platform Mod Feature
The feature of cross-platform mod support has been announced around mid-spring of 2025, on the day the release of user-created content is intended to unify all players in one ecosystem to make from downloading and using this user content. Developer previously mentioned, though, that some selected mods would be available for console players. Such restrictions are brought about the policies on content between platforms; not all of the mods will be ported into PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
