AION 2 Global Launch Confirmed for 2026, PC Version Will Support DLSS 4
In November this year, the MMORPG AION 2 is to see a global launch for 2026, the PC version of which will support NVIDIA DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation. The game will also be available for mobile platforms. The initial launch is planned for South Korea and Taiwan on November 19.
A Sequel Based on Unreal Engine 5
AION 2 is the sequel to the 2008 MMORPG Aion The Tower of Eternity. Whereas the original CRYENGINE was used for the development of the first game, this sequel is being made on an entirely new engine, Unreal Engine 5. The story is set around 200 years after the first game.
NCSOFT claim the game world is 36 times larger than its predecessor and, unlike the zoned instances of the original, AION 2 will have a seamless, fully explorable world with no loading screens between vast regions.
Refreshed Faction War; Open PvP
Once again, players are given the choice to fight under the flags of the ever-warring Elyos and Asmodian factions. What sets the AION 2 apart in this faction conflict
- Factions get placed on different servers.
- Direct world conflict between factions would be carried out only in the Abyss.
- In the Abyss, the two opposing factions would stand off against one another in large-scale PvP battles under the banner of two entire servers (one Elyos, one Asmodian).
Dungeons and Available Classes
It will feature 200 instances set in dungeons for solo to group activities with up to 8 players. Eight classes are being planned for launch:
- Gladiator
- Templar
- Assassin
- Marksman
- Sorcerer
- Spiritmaster
- Cleric
- Chanter
Announcement and Collaboration Detail With NVIDIA
There, NVIDIA shared this piece of information as part of its press release for the GeForce Gamer Festival taking place in Seoul. The event is featuring AION 2 along with another title by NCSOFT, the MMOTPS Cinder City.
A Short KRAFTON Update on PUBG Ally
KRAFTON also used the same announcement as an occasion to update on PUBG Ally, the AI-powered co-playable character first revealed at CES 2025. Powered by the Mistral-Nemo-Minitron-8B-128k small language model, PUBG Ally would see AI teammates helping the player even in combat, entering a user test event early next year.
