NVIDIA Reaches Record $5 Trillion Market Capitalization
NVIDIA's market capitalization has reached a new high of $5 trillion. The significant increase follows key announcements at its GTC 2025 conference and positive developments regarding a potential re-entry into China's AI market.
GTC 2025 Announcements Boost Investor Confidence
A primary driver for the market cap increase was the GTC 2025 keynote, delivered for the first time in Washington D.C. During the event, NVIDIA announced strategic partnerships with companies like Nokia. These collaborations showcased new, undiscovered use cases for AI technology, which spurred a positive response from the market.
Potential China Breakthrough Fuels Further Growth
Reports that President Trump will discuss the Blackwell AI chip in a meeting with his Chinese counterpart have created optimism for NVIDIA's return to the Chinese AI market. NVIDIA had previously excluded the region from its financial guidance, so the restoration of business could represent a significant revenue increase, potentially adding "tens of billions" of dollars. However, this outcome is not yet certain.
Clarifying Blackwell and Rubin Revenue Projections
At the GTC keynote, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang made a statement projecting $500 billion in revenue from the Blackwell and upcoming Rubin product lines in the next five quarters. NVIDIA's finance team has since provided a clarification on this figure.
According to the company, the $500 billion projection is accurate but represents the "total cumulative shipments" of Blackwell and Rubin products over the 2025–2026 period. This figure also includes networking products like InfiniBand and NVLink.
The corrected revenue expectation for the next five quarters is $307 billion. Notably, 30% of the total projected demand, amounting to $100 billion in revenue, has reportedly been shipped this month from Blackwell sales alone. During the event, the company also showed the Vera Rubin Superchip, which features ARM-based Vera CPUs and Rubin chiplets.
NVIDIA's Continued Dominance
NVIDIA continues to break records in market capitalization and technological advancement, solidifying its position as the dominant provider of AI computing power. The performance of its Hopper architecture set a foundation that the Blackwell and Rubin lineups are expected to build upon significantly.
