Alienware Adds AMD Ryzen 9000X3D Options to the Area-51 Desktop Line
In the Area-51 desktop setup, Alienware has extended the reach of configuration possibilities. Previously available only with Intel Arrow Lake processors, now models fitted with AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPUs have entered the scene to offer further choices for AMD enthusiasts.
New AMD Processor Options with 3D V-Cache
The new processors leverage AMD's 3D V-Cache technology designed specifically to enhance gaming performance by accelerating data access for cache-sensitive applications. These CPUs are seated in an X870E motherboard.
No Changes to Chassis and Cooling System
The Area-51 design has stayed pretty much unchanged for the AMD models. It uses a pressure-overload cooling system with a multi-fan set-up comprising two 140mm fans, two 180mm fans, and up to three 120mm intake fans. This arrangement directs cool air over the CPU and GPU, while hot air is expelled via a rear passive channel.
Maximum Performance and Storage
For its highest configuration with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Area-51 is designed to deliver up to 200W of power to the processor and upwards of 600W to the graphics card with options available up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090.
Storage can go up to 12 TB, making use of three 4 TB NVMe SSD PCIe Gen4 drives.
Pricing and Availability
The Alienware Area-51 with AMD Ryzen 9000X3D processors can be ordered now from the official Alienware website.
Pricing starts at $4349.99 for a configuration that features the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and a GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. Alienware also said that additional configurations with both AMD and NVIDIA components would be made available in the future.
