TSMC Achieves Record Block Trade Price The Taiwan Stock Exchange released the figures for major block trade transactions for today, revealing that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company hit a record block trade price. The exchange reported four major block transactions with a collective average price of NT$2,410.27, a slight premium over the standard market close of NT$2,410. One specific block trade reached an astronomical price for a new historical high.

A block trade comprised of 8 lots of TSMC shares closed today at an average price of NT$2,475.91, setting a major record and surpassing the prior historical record price set in earlier this month at NT$2,442 during a trade of 20 lots. Before today's block trades, there was another month in which prices briefly spiked to over NT$2,428, but they ultimately failed to set a new historical record price.

Many market participants closely follow these large block transactions as indicators of institutional investor sentiment and potential stock prices in the near future. The four block trades reported today had an aggregate of 1,471 lots and a total value of NT$3.5455 billion. Every single one of the block trades recorded today had an average price of over NT$2,400. The block trade of NT$2,475.91 will go down in the record books as the highest price ever achieved for a block trade of TSMC shares on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
