New 8-Minute Gameplay Video for Action RPG Fatekeeper Appears Online

Fatekeeper is an upcoming role-playing action game from Paraglacial and THQ Nordic, whose latest gameplay footage was released as part of the latest teaser. The project took inspiration from Dark Messiah of Might & Magic's focus on realistic physics. Brutal combat has now been incorporated with a unique world as evidence through the fresh footage.

What the New Gameplay Trailer Reveals

The 8-minute cut, released by the portal IGN, gives insight into the game. The most important moments that the video shows:

  • This will be a talking mouse intoducing a very unique character to the adventure.
  • Exploration in atmospheric castle ruins.
  • The main character collects various potions and supplies.
  • Visceral and brutal combat sequences against various monsters.

Developer Insights on Game Design

In one such discussion with journalists, the Paraglacial team gave further insights into its design philosophy. Perfectly inspired from the difficult gameplay of FromSoftware titles, the development team wants to make it as "satisfyingly challenging" as possible. They respected the Hexens series, however, Fatekeeper will feel wholly different.

Development and Release Information

Fatekeeper has been in development for a few years and built using the latest version of Unreal Engine 5. The current state of release plans is as follows:

  • Steam Early Access: The fantasy RPG will see an early access launch through Steam sometime in 2026.
  • Full Release: All console platforms will also see the game released following said early access.
