Game Awards 2025: Full List of Nominees Announced
The nominations for the Game Awards 2025 had been made official. Already, however, some of the nominees for the Game of the Year had leaked, thereby allowing the world full view of the abilities of its sure-seeming winners this year. Voting for all categories is open on its official website.
Highlights and Analysis
Huge gaps exist this year between the most-nominated game in its category and those in second and third position.
- The Forerunner: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the lead game with 12 nominations, includes three nominations for individual actor performances.
- Top Contenders: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei are tied in second place with seven nominations each.
- Major Other Titles: After these are Hades 2 with six nominations, Hollow Knight Silksong with five, and Split Fiction with four.
- Game of the Year Anomalies: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, while nominated for Game of the Year, achieved only three nominations in total, while in a more marked case Donkey Kong Bananza was nominated for GOTY but only gained one further nomination for Best Family Game.
- Special Mentions: Marvel's Deadpool VR was nominated for Best VR/AR Game before it even saw an official release on November 18. Dispatch earned its nomination for Best Debut Indie shortly after airing its final episode.
