Lenovo Unveils AI Glasses V1 with Transparent Screens Built Inside
Lenovo has unveiled its latest AI Glasses V1, smart glasses that integrate transparent displays within their lenses. The feature of the device is that it combines an AI assistant translation built into it with extensive standby endurance, amounting to 250 hours of standby.
Display and Core Functionality
The dimensions of the lenses are compact (15 x 11 x 1.8 mm), housing displays capable of reaching peak brightness to 2000 nits. This is to project useful information directly into the field of view of the wearer:
- Combined Navigation maps when paired with an Android smartphone.
- An interface dedicated to Lenovo's "Tianxi" smart assistant.
Granting AI Capabilities and Control
This Tianxi smart assistant also forms the heart of the glasses' functionality and a number of AI-driven features it enables.
- Real-time translation of spoken words, then displaying their transcription on a digital display.
- Image label recognition.
- Voice command responses.
- Teleprompter mode for scripts or notes.
Interaction with the glasses is allowed via voice commands as well as a touch-sensitive panel on the frame. The connection is Bluetooth 5.4 and has two microphones as well as two speakers for audio.
Battery Life and Charging
These are the estimates given by Lenovo for battery life depending on usage types:
- Translator mode: up to 10 hours in use.
- Teleprompter mode: as much as 4 hours of use.
- Standby: up to 250 hours.
Charging time is about 40min in totality.
Price and availability
The Lenovo AI Glasses V1 will see a release in China coming November 9. Its recommended retail price has been set at $562.
