Rumors Have It Rubin GPU from NVIDIA Enters Production, HBM4 Samples Received
NVIDIA's next-generation AI accelerator Rubin GPU is reportedly encroaching production. In the meantime, it has procured samples of the HBM4 memory from all major suppliers, making Rubin the most advanced AI platform for the company going into 2026.
Accelerated Production Timeline
During a visit to Taiwan, Jensen Huang, reportedly the CEO of NVIDIA, stated that the Rubin GPU is already going into production. This is quite a rapid pace since only a few days back, Huang had announced the first Rubin GPUs had been received in NVIDIA labs.
The platform that was first previewed as the Vera Rubin Superchip at GTC 2025 seeks to drive the next wave of AI computing within data centers. Huang further added, "We have already seen Rubin on the production line," confirming that "TSMC is working very hard to support the related demand."
Sourcing HBM4 and Managing Supply Chain
In addition to the GPU, it is reported NVIDIA has been given HBM4 memory samples from several manufacturers. It is common practice for NVIDIA to source memory from multiple companies to ensure a stable supply chain and avoid restrictions due to shortages of any of its high-demand products.
While Blackwell Demand Is Sky-Hight, Another Baby Rubin Is Being Born
Currently, there is an ever-increasing demand for NVIDIA's current generation Blackwell and Blackwell Ultra GPUs. This has led the chipmaker TSMC to increase its 3nm production capacity by fifty percent to continue serving the demand for Blackwell while preparing for future demands of Rubin.
Market Position and Future Outlook
Rubin GPUs are key in NVIDIA's future plans. It has already formed a significant $100 billion partnership with OpenAI, intending to use these next-generation MSPs in its data centers.
It is essential to differentiate between the first production run and mass production, which NVIDIA is targeting for approximately Q3 2026. However, these initial production steps indicate that the Rubin platform's development process is on an aggressive timeline.
